The Hackett flexible chain harrow with the self cleaning action is a good tool to spread cornstalks, incorporate fertilizer into the ground, break up manure piles to eliminate grass burns, to aerate a grass or hay field and prepare ground for seeding. The flexing movement of the harrow will break up clogs and crust in cultivated ground. The aeration motion improves moisture penetration and stimulates new growth of crops. The draft linkage arrangement for trailed harrows has been designed with an offset to prevent tracking of the tines when operating. The LEINBACH designed drawbar with the smaller attachment holes allows the chain to be flipped over so the teeth are up in the air. This makes the harrow less aggressive and works well when seed or fertilizer just needs to be lightly covered. The harrow can be pulled alone or in combination with other field equipment such as drills, discs, field cultivators, etc. The round ring hitch can be attached by a clevis at the tractor rear drawbar to raise the front of the chain harrow. The smaller sizes can be pulled by an ATV or lawn mower.
